Georgia State University has promoted Dr. Alexander Kirpich to Associate Professor with Tenure in the Department of Population Health Sciences, effective Summer 2026.
Dr. Kirpich joined Georgia State as an Assistant Professor in August 2019. Since then, he has built a strong record of excellence in research, teaching, and service, with a research program focused on infectious disease modeling, biostatistics, and public health. His work has contributed to the understanding of diseases such as COVID-19, cholera, HIV, hepatitis C, and mpox, while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations across the university.
Before joining Georgia State, Dr. Kirpich earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Belarusian State University and both his master's degree in statistics and Ph.D. in biostatistics from the University of Florida, where he also completed two postdoctoral appointments.
Promotion to Associate Professor with tenure recognizes Dr. Kirpich's significant scholarly achievements, sustained contributions to the university, and continued commitment to advancing public health research.
